Following on from that 5-0 opening day defeat to Manchester City, one of the last places West Ham United will want to be this weekend is the AMEX Stadium – home of the club’s most recent bogey team.
The Hammers haven’t defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in their last four attempts. In fact, the club’s last victory in this certain fixture came back in 2012, so Saturday’s clash won’t be a straightforward test.
In an attempt to raise the spirits though, we’re going to go on a welcome trip down memory lane to recall West Ham’s most recent triumphs against the Seagulls.
West Ham and Brighton are at 18 wins apiece, with 15 draws, going into this weekend’s match, but the hosts have come out on top in three of the last four meetings.
That doesn’t exactly bode well for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but it should be viewed as an opportunity to break the duck and truly kick-start what promises to be a good 2019-20 campaign.
Here are the Irons’ latest wins over Brighton.
