West Ham United enquired about the possibility of signing for-sale Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa during the summer, and early indications show they should’ve pursued their interest.
According to L’Equipe, as cited in Sport Witness, West Ham were among suitors after PSG set their asking price at €15million, however, ultimately didn’t make a move for his services.
The France international is low in Thomas Tuchel’s current pecking order and was told he could leave, but it must be noted the Hammers’ enquiry was asking about the ‘conditions’ of his availability, rather than formal discussions.

We’ve seen how much Aaron Cresswell has struggled during pre-season and, most notably, in that 5-0 humbling at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday, so Kurzawa now seems like he could’ve been the perfect arrival.
The 26-year-old Frenchman is now entering his prime and, although Manuel Pellegrini seems content with Cresswell as back-up for fellow countryman Arthur Masuaku, would be an upgrade on what the club has got.
He has bags of experience at the highest level, pace to burn and a fine eye for a pass that would’ve certainly suited Sebastien Haller’s game; he truly could’ve been the cherry on top of a great summer of business.
