Jack Wilshere is flying in his own private physio from Ireland for two sessions a week in a promising attempt to rebuild his career, but some West Ham United supporters seem to be missing the point.
According to the Daily Mail, the 27-year-old is paying for his physiotherapist Declan Lynch, who also helped him at Arsenal, to travel from Ireland to help him boost his fitness.
It’s no secret Wilshere has been plagued by unfortunate injury blows for a large part of his career, so Hammers fans should be happy to see him making the effort to fight for the badge.
Plenty of fans have gone down the ‘he’s a professional footballer so too right’ route with the news though, joking amongst themselves on Twitter.

Some responses were considerably more comical…

Read West Ham verdict
Yes, Jack Wilshere is a professional footballer on a handsome wage, but West Ham fans should be praising the former England international for trying to feature as much as he can to help the team.
Following his worrying knock against Manchester City, you’d hope he’s ready to go again at Brighton this weekend where the Hammers will be desperate to bounce back.
I for one stand proud for Wilshere and, if he keeps on working hard, I’m positive he’ll play a crucial role under Manuel Pellegrini this season.
