Manuel Lanzini will be delighted to be starting the 2019-20 season in full fitness, rather than watching from the sidelines, and supporters have come together to plead with West Ham United to extend his contract.
The Argentine magician is entering his fifth year at the club and, now aged 26 and hitting his peak, Hammers supporters are desperate for him to remain at the London Stadium for the foreseeable future.
If he has as good a season as many are hoping for him to have, it’s pretty likely there will be clubs pursuing him and with his contract running until next summer, it’d be a disaster if West Ham lost him for free.
The Hammers shared a photo on Twitter earlier this afternoon of Lanzini hard at work during training, and there was a very – and I can’t stress this enough – very popular topic in the responses.

On his day, Lanzini is a talent to behold and makes the West Ham team tick. He could turn into a real star during a full season managed by fellow Argentine Manuel Pellegrini, who I’m sure will be keen to tie him down sooner rather than later.
Let’s hope Lanzini can get the season up and running with a bang against Manchester City no less, and move on from there. It’d be terrific to see him commit his long-term future to the club though.
