West Ham United have finally confirmed the signing of highly-rated Boavista centre-back Goncalo Cardoso, and it’s fair to say supporters are willingly getting carried away in excitement for his arrival.
Cardoso, 18, has signed a five-year deal with the option of a further year at the London Stadium, with West Ham thought to have beaten competition from a cluster of European clubs for his services.
The Hammers’ new no. 20 has expressed his delight at moving to the Premier League, describing his move as a ‘dream come true.’

His impending arrival has been public knowledge for a few days now and, unsurprisingly, West Ham fans flooded the club’s comment section as the transfer was announced on Twitter this afternoon.
