West Ham’s busy summer looks set to continue with Manchester United reportedly pursuing a move for Issa Diop following his fine season for the Hammers.
Manuel Pellegrini has already sold Edimilson Fernandez to Mainz and Lucas Perez to Deportivo Alaves this summer, while Adrian, Andy Carroll and Samir Nasri will all leave the club on a free transfer next month.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Diop recently, and West Ham are reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £60million for the centre-back.
The Frenchman moved to the London Stadium last summer in a £22million move from Toulouse, and the 22-year-old established himself as a consistent figure for the Hammers last season following his move from the Ligue 1 side.
And amid interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United, we’ve taken a look at a number of centre-backs the Hammers could look at signing, should Diop depart this summer.
Sarr enjoyed a fine season for OGC Nice last season, helping the Ligue 1 side to a seventh placed finish, and the 20-year-old has already made 99 appearances in all competitions for the French outfit.
Maripan has been linked with a move to West Ham this summer following his fine season with Deportivo Alaves, though the Hammers could have to wait until Chile’s Copa America campaign ends to agree a deal.
Izzo’s fine form for Torino last season earned him a call up to the Italy squad, and the 27-year-old made his debut against Lichtenstein in March.
Andersen is another who impressed in Serie A last season, though the Hammers would face competition from Arsenal for the Dane.
Niakhete had a fine campaign for Mainz last season, and the Hammers will have another chance to watch the French Under-21 international in this summers U21 European Championships.
Mancini was a key figure for Atalanta last season, making 30 appearances in the league and helping the Serie A side finish third, above both Inter Milan and AC Milan.
Kimpembe has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and though it would require a significant offer to land the Frenchman, he would be a fine signing for the Hammers.
Djene is another who has been linked with a Premier League move this summer, after the 27-year-old helped Getafe finish fifth in La Liga last summer.
