West Ham are eyeing up a swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden this summer.
According to The Newcastle Chronicle, via Sky Sports, West Ham are looking at Hayden as a possible alternative to Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The report claims that West Ham have had two bids rejected for Gomes, with the latest being in the region of £20m. Barcelona are said to be holding out for £25m, as Everton also look to sign the Portuguese midfielder – who was on loan at Goodison Park this season.

Hayden, meanwhile, started the season out-of-favour under Rafa Benitez, but forced his way into the side and ended the season strongly – impressing in the holding role for Newcastle.
However, he is now keen to leave Tyneside and move closer to London, having come through the ranks at Arsenal. This will come as a boost to West Ham if they decide to act on their interest.
