West Ham are reportedly in the race to sign Valentino Lazaro from Hertha Berlin in January.
According to claims from the printed edition of the Express, as cited in a report from Sportslens, the Hammers are keen to sign the right-back as they prepare for the second half of the season.
Lazaro is a versatile player and is naturally a right-sided winger. However, in recent times, he has operated in a deeper role for Hertha and has impressed.

The 22-year-old has emerged as an important player for his side and has already made 12 Bundesliga starts this season. During this time, he has scored twice and has also chipped in with two assists.
West Ham are understood to be on the lookout for new recruits in the January transfer window and with Ryan Fredericks set to be sidelined for months, signing a new right-back could be on Manuel Pellegrini’s mind.
Lazaro recently stole the show in Austria’s UEFA Nations League fixture against Northern Ireland, as he netted a last-gasp winner in fine fashion to secure three points for his country.
