West Ham have had a second bid rejected for Lyon defender Marcelo, according to reports in France.
According to GFFN, who cite Goal France, West Ham had offered €25million for the Brazilian centre-back, after failing with an intial bid of €17million, but like the first bid the second was swiftly rejected by Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas.
Lyon don’t want to let the 31-year old leave this summer after having already sanctioned the sale of Mouctar Diakhaby to Valencia.

Allowing Marcelo to depart would leave OL with just three central defenders, a scenario the club are hoping to avoid.
Marcelo though appears to be keen on a move to London, with the Hammers having tabled a €3million-a-year offer to the former Brazil Under-20 international.
Marcelo was a mainstay in Lyon’s side last season, making 35 starts for Les Gones in Ligue 1, scoring on three occasions.
