West Ham look likely to miss out on the signing of OGC Nice striker Alassane Plea, with Tottenham now favourites to secure the player’s signature.
The Telegraph reports that Newcastle were only willing to offer £20 million for the player, but Nice want closer to £27 million, leaving the door open for Spurs to steal the march.
Plea is in demand this summer but wanted to make the move to Newcastle, according to the report.

The French forward has his eyes on a Premier League switch and in particularly the chance to play under Rafa Benitez at St James’ Park.
West Ham had also earmarked the player as a striker target this summer, with the club looking to provide Manuel Pellegrini with all the tools to improve on their previous Premier League campaign.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Plea throughout the summer and view the player as an alternative to Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, who they were also keen to bring into the club.
