West Ham charged by FA for anti-doping rule violations

West Ham have been charged by the FA in relation to their rules rules on Anti-Doping, it has been confirmed.

The charge is specifically in relation to regulation 14(d) which outlines that the club must correctly notify the FA to their whereabouts to conduct doping tests.

It’s believed that West Ham have committed at least three infringements in the last 12 months, resulting in an official charge by English football’s governing body.

West Ham failed to ensure its ‘Club Whereabouts’ information was accurate on three occasions within 12-months and have until Tuesday 27th February 2018 to respond to this charge.

West Ham have released a statement in relation to the charge, confirming it was an administrative error and doesn’t concern any of the players:

The breach relates to administrative oversights on The FA’s whereabouts system, for example a player’s address had been registered and the house number digits transposed, and the Club will be responding to The FA in due course. We would like to make it clear that the breach is a Club administrative matter and does not concern any of our players.

Daviod Moyes’ side travel to Merseyside on Saturday to take on Liverpool at Anfield as they look to break back into the top half of the table following a recent upturn in form.
