West Ham United forward Toni Martinez has revealed his determination to kick on at the club, having spent the week training with the first team squad, under the watchful eye of new manager David Moyes.
Martinez, who spent the second half of last season out on loan, is pleased to have spent the international break training with the first team (via the club’s website):
It’s been a great week.
The U23s and myself have been training with the first team. It’s given us a chance to learn a lot and improve.
He [Moyes] really wants us to work hard and he wants all eleven players defending as well. It’s really good for us and our development.
Martinez, 20, is a Spanish youth international, and has represented his country at under 17, under 18 and under 19 level, including at the UEFA Under-19 Championship.

He has scored eleven goals for the Hammers under 23 side so far this season, but puts his success down to the overall efforts of the team:
I just try to do my best,
I say that all the time. The team is brilliant around me and, with their help, I know I will keep scoring goals.
I will keep working, keep my head down and putting in the effort to score goals and get even better.
Martinez is likely to be a key player once again as the under 23 side host Derby County at the London Stadium on Friday.
