West Ham manager Slaven Bilic could do with a victory over Liverpool at the weekend as the pressure on him is mounting.
However, if the Hammers are to get anything from the visit of the Reds, they’ll need to do it with a makeshift defence after a number of first-choice players will miss the game.
Firstly, veteran right-back Pablo Zabaleta is unavailable due to his suspension.
James Collins’ ankle injury will keep him out of the game and there are concerns about Winston Reid who has a calf strain and Jose Fonte who injured his foot against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool won the corresponding fixture 4-0 at the rear end of last season and West Ham fans will be fearful of another similar scoreline if four of their best defenders are unavailable for selection this weekend.
