Player Ratings: West Ham 2-0 Huddersfield

All West Ham needed was a home game to turn their season around and get points on the board.

After three tough away trips courtesy of the World Athletics Championships being held at the London Stadium, the Hammers needed to return home with a bang and secure all three points against Huddersfield.

Slaven Bilic changed things up and went with a back three on Monday night and it prevailed as the Hammers came away victorious.

After a nervy first half, West Ham grew into the game in the second period and took the lead when Pedro Obiang’s effort took a big deflection and looped in off the post.

West Ham doubled their lead and secured the win minutes later when Andre Ayew, who came off the bench and provided the assist for the opener, prodded home from close range after being quickest to react from Jose Fonte’s knock down.

There couldn’t have been a better time to pick up the first win of the season. Here are our player ratings.
