Fletcher has signed a four-year-deal after leaving West Ham’s training camp yesterday to fly for talks with Boro.
The talks were successful and the transfer believed to be £6.5m has now been finalised. The transfer comes a week after Boro also signed Darren Randolph from the Hammers as they look to bounce straight back up to the Premier League.
After joining West Ham from Man Utd last summer, Fletcher found game-time hard to come by and only managed one goal during his time at the London Stadium, the goal coming against his former side in the EFL cup loss.
With the recent signing of Javier Hernandez, time on the pitch for the 21-year-old would be very tricky and so a deal was agreed to part ways with the striker.
He will look to secure more game-time in the championship along side new strikers Britt Assombalonga and Martin Braithwaite and prove to West Ham they may regret letting him go.
