West Ham opened the 2016/17 season with a trip across London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and were cruelly denied a point when Diego Costa scored in the dying minutes to give the Blues a 2-1 win.
Slaven Bilic’s men got their own back (in a way) later in the Autumn when Antonio Conte’s side came to the London Stadium for an EFL Cup clash.
Matching Chelsea’s 3-4-3 formation, West Ham went toe-to-toe with the Blues and goals from Chiekhou Kouyate and Edimilson Fernanes helped the Hammers to a 2-1 victory of their own in a game which was largely marred by fan violence in the away end.
