Ajax defender Joel Veltman has spoken out about speculation linking him with a move to West Ham.
The Dutch international spoke to Fox Sports after Ajax’s 1-0 away win at FC Utrecht on Sunday.
The 25-year-old is an Ajax regular and it would take a serious bid to land the defender.
Asked about his future and links to the London club, Veltman responded:
When do I go to London? I still haven’t heard anything concrete. That’s not going to happen within eight days.
The Mirror reported last weekend that Slaven Bilic was looking to strengthen his squad with the versatile Dutchman, but the Hammers have since signed Jose Fonte from Southampton.

That’s not to say Bilic isn’t still looking to add more depth to his backline.
The Mirror suggested £8m would be enough to land Veltman, but with the window drawing to a close, any deal might end up costing more.
With West Ham currently sat in 10th and Dimitri Payet wanting away from the club, there is still scope for signings this month.
The good form that has thus far eluded them this season has now begun to reappear, however, with two very good wins from the latest two league games – a three-nil win against Crystal Palace and a three-one away win against Middlesbrough.
