West Ham are back in the wins after a spirited and gutsy 1-0 victory over high-flying Crystal Palace last Saturday.
Manuel Lanzini gave the Hammers the lead after just 19 minutes after he slotted home Aaron Cresswell’s cross. The left-back was sent off for two debatable bookings in the space of 55 seconds in the second half to leave the Hammers short-handed at the back.
In spite of this, Slaven Bilic’s men masterminded a terrific defensive performance to keep an in-form Christian Benteke at bay and secure their first Premier League win since August and lift them out of the bottom three.
Perhaps this will be the moment West Ham’s season really takes off following a truly dismal start. The team has kept a much needed clean sheet and has been able to put together a resilient display and secure the win – something we haven’t been able to do this term.
