Millwall centre-back Mahlon Romeo has laughed off rumours that he is set to move to London rivals West Ham United in the next transfer window.
20-year-old Romeo, who has made six appearances for the Antigua and Barbuda national team, came through Arsenal’s youth academy before finishing his junior football schooling at Gillingham. He spent the 2012-13 season on loan at Dover Athletic before making just one appearance for Gillingham.
In 2015, Romeo made the switch to Millwall, becoming a first-team regular. He made eighteen appearances for the Lions in 2015-16.

He recently signed a new deal at the Den, which will keep him there until 2019. Of the rumours linking him to a move away from Millwall, Mahlon told News at the Den:
“I don’t make up the rumours, you wake up one day and you see it and think, ‘Where’s that come from, who’s made that up?'”
“I just laugh it off really. I’ve never been one to be easily strayed with things like that.”
Romeo has a bright future ahead of him, having put in some excellent performances during Millwall’s road to the play-offs last season – but he was suspended for their unsuccessful effort at promotion, right at the final hurdle.
He said of his future:
“I’m focused on being a Millwall player and I’m enjoying my time here.”
