Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the season, ending any hopes West Hamhad about bringing him to the London Stadium on a temporary deal. The left-back has seemed set for a loan move all summer, but has plumped for the Championship rather than the Premier League clubs chasing him.
The youngster came to national attention after making 10 Premier League appearances for Manchester United last season, being used in the absence of Luke Shaw after the senior man picked up a serious leg break in the Champions League.

However, with Shaw now back from his injury and raring to go, Borthwick-Jackson has been allowed to leave, and had been linked with West Brom, West Ham United, and others as potential suitors. Wolves, who have made several signings this summer with their new owners, went in for the 19-year-old, and have got their man alongside Benfica winger Ola John, who also joins on a temporary deal.
West Ham have been eager to sign a left-back for much of the summer, but will now have to cross Borthwick-Jackson off their list. He was only ever going to be back-up to Aaron Cresswell, who is out for a few months with injury. The Hammers have also brought in Arthur Masuaku this summer, and the Frenchman has shown promising signs so far this season.
