Despite Arthur Masuaku having signed for West Ham, I believe that The Hammers could benefit from signing Aleksandar Kolarov from Manchester City.
After six years in England, Kolarov is extremely experienced at this level, as he has shown regularly with his performances and goals. He’s been an important part of teams which have won league titles and cups, giving West Ham a certain pedigree for a player who’d be excellent cover for Cresswell, then a backup who will challenge the 26-year-old first-choice to improve and ensure he stays Slaven Bilic’s favourite option on that side.

Kolarov has also shown himself to be an effective attacking force, especially from free-kicks, allowing West Ham an alternative to Dimitri Payet (if anyone ever had any desire for such a thing). His barnstorming runs down the side for The Blues have also been revered at times since he arrived from Lazio in 2010.
Unfortunately for the 30-year-old, his time at City seems to be almost at an end. After a poor season last year, fans have turned on him more than ever, and he could do with a move away and a fresh fanbase, where he can rebuild himself into the player strong both offensively and defensively that he became in Manuel Pellegrini’s earlier years at City.

Following the arrival of Pep Guardiola, City are also looking to sell up, making a deal for Kolarov potentially a bargain. There also seems to be little competition for his signature, which would allow a transfer to be pushed through quickly, and get him into the squad quicker, preparing well for the year ahead.
