Despite Thursday’s Europa League clash against NK Domzale, Juventus’ trip to the London Stadium is seen as the real stadium opener.
With an opening ceremony planned and the game being shown live on BT Sport, West Ham are hoping it’s a real eye-catcher.
This will also be West Ham’s last friendly before the start of the new Premier League season, which begins for West Ham on Monday, August 15th away at Chelsea live on Sky Sports.
There are a lot of things that link West Ham and Juventus – mainly players that have donned the shirt for both clubs during their careers.
Last summer, the Hammers signed Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus who became the latest footballer to play for both sides.
More forgettable names such as Marco Borriello, Antonio Nocerino and Liam Brady all played for both clubs, while who could forget club icons Paolo di Canio and Carlos Tevez?
For fun, we’ve made a combined XI and bench of both teams, and for the sake of fairness we’ve evened up the numbers a little otherwise it’d be loaded with West Ham stars!
