West Ham’s opening game at the London Stadium was a resounding success.
A strong and confident performance from Slaven Bilic’s men was rewarded with a comfortable 3-0 win over Slovenian side NK Domzale which saw West Ham progress to the Europa League play-off round 4-2 on aggregate.
Kouyate gave West Ham the lead after just eight minutes after he turned home a shot-come-cross from Sam Byram.
The Senegal international doubled the Hammers’ lead later in the first half after Michail Antonio’s cross was knocked down by Andy Carroll into the path of Kouyate who tucked it away with ease.
West Ham were in cruise control in the second half knowing the tie was all but over, and they put it to bed after Sofiane Feghouli lashed home a third following a sumptuous cross-field ball from Mark Noble.
