Argentine attacker Jose Sosa has handed in a transfer request to current club Besiktas due to growing concerns for his family’s safety.
In a statement released last night, Sosa stated he and his family have decided to leave Istanbul following the recent terror attack which was ‘very close’ to him. He went on to say his family are his number one priority and football will always come second.
Besiktas understand and respect Sosa’s decision and are currently working alongside the player and his agent to find him a new club.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Sosa already this summer, though it is AC Milan that are in pole position for the 31-year-old’s signature.
Sosa recently declared his desire to join the Italian giants in an interview with Turkish source Fanatik. “It is a proposal that comes from a great team,” he said. “Such opportunities do not always come and I do not want to miss the chance to play for Milan.“
