West Ham kept their hopes of a top-four finish alive with a comprehensive 3-1 win at home against a Watford side who seemed to have one eye on their upcoming FA Cup semi-final with Crystal Palace.
The win leaves the Hammers four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, although the Gunners do have a game in hand against West Brom at home.
The eventful game saw West Ham go out to a 3-0 lead after 53 minutes.
Andy Carroll’s goalscoring form continued to get the Hammers off the mark. He got on the end of a lovely pass from Dimitri Payet and volleyed home.
The next two Hammers goals were Mark Noble penalties. The first came after Jose Holebas fouled Cheikhou Kouyaté and the second when Almen Abdi brought down Michail Antonio. The captain scored both to all-but-seal the game.
Watford got a goal back soon after from Sebastian Prodl and had an injury-time penalty saved, and even had winger Nordin Amrabat sent off late on.
We wanted to know who the fans thought West Ham’s stand-out player was in the game, and to find this out, we set up a duel.
Our Duel feature presented fans with two players and they selected which of the two they thought had a better game.
We went through all of the players in a ‘winner stays on’ type vote, so, the player you clicked with the final vote was each fan’s personal Man of the Match.
Here are the results:
