West Ham United’s stadium, Upton Park, maybe converted into flats as Barratt Homes and Galliard Homes have joined up to make the transformation happen, according to Anna White of the Telegraph.
It has been reported that Barratt, the FTSE 100 company, have signed a joint agreement with Galliard, who have purchased the grounds from the Premier League side. West Ham are, of course, getting ready to move into their new stadium at the Olympic Park.
Speaking in February, the club’s chairman, Baroness Brady admitted that Galliard had won the bid to buy the grounds from the current holders.

Former chief executive of Barrett Homes, Mark Clare, retired in July and this is the first big bit of business that the company have completed following him stepping-down. Finance Director David Thomas took on the role of Chief Executive.
The two building companies are now looking for planning permission in order to change the football stadium into flats. They are in discussions with the local council to build ‘affordable housing’ which will be essential to the local community in East London.
