According to ESPN FC sources, West Ham have agreed a deal to sign the higly rated Serbian forward Luka Belic on a free transfer.
After seeing out his contract at OFK Belgrade earlier this summer, the 19-year-old has been without a club. But now, it looks like the youngster is set to return to the football and play in the Premier League.
Belic was the youngest player to make his debut in the Serbian Premier League back in 2012 at the age of 16. He is now regarded as one of the best prospects in Serbia following highly impressive appearances for club and country which ended up catching the eye of many.
The youngster has played had both under-17 and under-19 level for his country and is now tipped to make the step-up to the senior team in the future.
It’d been reported by ESPN that many European clubs were keeping tabs on Belic, but it now seems that the Hammers have won the race for his signature.
Belic will not need a work permit to come to England, despite having a Belgian passport. Slaven Bilic will probably make the new signing work in the youth teams, before making the step to the first team.
