West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Croatian International Nikica Jelavic from Hull City. Sources at Sky Sports are reporting of a deal being agreed between the two clubs, with TalkSport saying that he is currently undergoing a medical with the East London club today with the deal set to be completed by today or early on deadline day.
The Hammers are said to have beaten Turkish club Trabzonspor to the former Everton and Rangers frontman in a deal said to be around £3m.

Hull boss Steve Bruce conceded at the weekend that the Croatian looked likely to be exiting the club by Deadline Day on Tuesday.
He said “Now let’s see if the two clubs get to the valuation. He has a buy-out clause but they have got nowhere near that. Come Tuesday, I would still expect him to leave.” It would now seem that the two clubs have found an amicable deal and the Hammers will finally put to bed a transfer saga that has been rumbling on since May.

Jelavic has been playing his football in Britain since he joined Rangers in 2010. He was a prolific goalscorer for the then Scottish Premiership club, which earned him a big move below the border to Everton in 2012. West Ham were said to be very interested at the time but were beaten to him by the Toffees. He then moved to Hull in 2014, but was unable to help them stave off relegation and has started off the season in the Championship.
