West Ham have resumed their pursuit of out-of-favour Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, writes Darren Lewis of the Mirror. Talks initially broke down in the January transfer window with David Gold’s now infamous “don’t go to bed tweet”, as West Ham were unwilling to meet the Togolese forward’s £100,000 per week wage bill.

With Adebayor reportedly unsettled at White Hart Lane, it is now believed that Daniel Levy is considering subsidising the 31- year old’s wages in order to facilitate a move to West Ham. The East Londoner’s are looking to complete a year-long loan for the striker, following injuries to Enner Valencia, Mauro Zarate, and Andy Carroll.
Adebayor enjoyed a prominent role in Tim Sherwood’s successful 2013/14 campaign, netting 11 goals and 5 assists in 21 league appearances. However, the Togo international played fewer than 1000 minutes for Tottenham Hotspur last season following a series of tumultuous family grievances. It is now hoped that a season at West Ham will provide a much-needed fresh start for the former Manchester City and Arsenal striker.
