West Ham forward Mauro Zarate will miss the club’s next two games, according to London 24. The striker will be absent for the home game against AFC Bournemouth, in addition to the trip to Liverpool this month. The Argentine has been impressive so far this season, having scored in the Premier League opener away to Arsenal.
The injury to the Argentine only worsens the current striker problem at Upton Park, as fellow front-men Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia are both currently also on the sidelines. Diafra Sakho is the only decent goal-scorer left that is available for selection, and he too has been having problems recently, albeit off the field.
However, this setback to the squad could encourage Slaven Bilic and the board to work even harder in trying to bring another forward to the club. The Boleyn Ground club have been linked with various strikers thus far, but have been unable to successful secure a target this summer.
