West Ham are interested in signing Manchester United’s Anders Lindegaard on a short term loan to replace the suspended Adrian for 3 games, according to the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old, who has only played 95 times in his 13 year career, would actually be available on a free transfer after falling down the pecking order to Manchester United’s 4th choice goalkeeper, but West Ham are only interested in a short term loan. Lindegaard, who has been capped 5 times for his national side Denmark, has no intention of leaving Old Trafford despite the signing of Sergio Romero, but could leave to show Louis Van Gaal that he can provide sufficient cover in the Premier League and perhaps push for the number 1 jersey if David De Gea departs.
West Ham are also interested in Rob Green, but Lindegaard’s wages will be much cheaper and will only be for an emergency loan rather than signing him permanently.
The Dane hasn’t had the success in Manchester as his fellow countryman Peter Schmeichel, having been reduced to a back-up goalie for Edwin Van Der Sar and David De Gea, and has played an underwhelming 25 games for Manchester United.
