West Ham United look set to challenge French and Turkish sides for the signature of Anthony Vanden Borre according to Voetbal Nieuws, who looks set to leave Anderlecht after two years back playing with his first team, via spells in Serie A, the Premier League and Ukraine.
Despite The Hammers having already signed a right-back in Carl Jenkinson this summer, who spent last season on loan at Upton Park, they may want to bring in Belgium international Vanden Borre to increase the depth they have available, as they look to build upon last weekend’s 2-0 win at The Emirates.
However, they won’t be alone in their chase for the 27-year-old Zaire-born Belgian, with Voetbal Nieuws saying that Turkish and French teams are also keen on the former Portsmouth loanee. In his last spell in the Premier league, at Fratton Park, Vanden Borre made almost 20 appearances, but was unable to save Pompey from beginning their spiral towards League Two football.
Anthony Vanden Borre made 20 appearances in Belgium’s top flight last season, scoring once. He also has 29 caps for Belgium’s senior team.
