Spanish sides Sevilla and Sporting Gijon could be set to hijack a move for imminent West Ham signing Alen Halilovic, according to Inside Spanish Football.
The youngster, who is not in Barcelona’s first team frame for the upcoming campaign, reportedly favours a move to the English Premier League. Everton have also shown a keen interest in the 19-year-old, but it is hoped that the Croatian will link up with his fellow countryman Slaven Bilic.
It was Bilic who actually handed Halilovic his international debut, and this footballing relationship could potentially blossom even further if the attacking midfielder was to make the move to the Boleyn Ground.
Barcelona would prefer a loan deal for the player to a top European league, as Halilovic would struggle to make progress if he was to spend another season with the Barcelona B setup.
