West Ham have been handed a boost in the race to sign Javier Hernandez, as the striker has asked his club Manchester United to cut the asking price for him.
The London Evening Standard report that the Mexican, who is also wanted by fellow Premier League side and rivals Tottenham, is prepared to not receive bonuses in an attempt to force a move away from Old Trafford.
Slaven Bilic’s side recently placed an £11.9m bid for the 27-year-old, in an attempt to bolster the attacking options at the Boleyn Ground. Upton Park could yet see another Mexican goal scorer join the club, with Raul Jimenez set to seal a season-long loan deal in East London.
Hernandez scored nine goals in 33 appearances whilst on loan at Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid team for the 2014/15 campaign. He also boasts an extremely impressive international record for Mexico, averaging more than one goal in every two games.
