West Ham youngster Martin Samuelsen has confirmed that he will not be departing the club on loan, he has confirmed, having spoken to Norwegian media outlet Aftenposten.
Having signed from fellow Premier League club Manchester City earlier in the summer, the 18-year-old will be fighting for his place in the starting eleven under new manager Slaven Bilic.
However, playing with the Development Squad won’t be an issue for the Norwegian attacking midfielder, he has revealed.
‘I do not think the club wants to send me [out] on loan. There are many games this season. I will not be disappointed if I have to play for the U21 team, I take it as it comes.’
Read West Ham exclusively spoke to Samuelsen following his move from the Etihad Stadium to the Boleyn Ground.
He told us: ‘I would like to get some appearances for the first team at some point. In the meantime, or if not, I’m going to work my socks off for the U21s and help them win games by scoring and assisting my teammates.’
