West Ham United are set to complete a deal for talented Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic, report The Metro. A fee of around £4.2million is close to being agreed, as the Hammers close in on sealing the transfer.
The Champions League winners are set to let the Croatian depart, as he has struggled to break into Luis Enrique’s first team setup. Halilovic would certainly boost the creativity levels at the Boleyn Ground, following the departure of Stewart Downing to Middlesbrough.
It was recently reported that the Irons were the 19-year-old’s favoured destination, ahead of fellow Premier League side Everton. If the deal was to be completed, it would be a fantastic piece of business by Slaven Bilic as the attacking midfielder has such vast potential.
Halilovic has seven international caps with the Croatian national team, and netted on four occasions in 22 starts for Barcelona B in the previous campaign. He will be looking to build on this in the future.
