West Ham will face competition in their pursuit of Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez from local rivals Tottenham, according to Sky Italia.
The Hammers first opened negotiations with the Mexican striker a week ago, and then placed a bid of £9million for Chicharito. Slaven Bilic was then handed a boost when it was revealed that the 27-year-old would snub a move to the MLS in order to continue his career in the Premier League.
However, the Red Devils have recently claimed that Hernandez is not for sale and he will be joining up with Louis van Gaal on their pre-season tour. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have now reportedly joined the race for the international striker, as the White Hart Lane club look to decrease the goal-scoring burden off the shoulders of Harry Kane.
It is expected that we will see a new striking arrival at Upton Park before the closure of the summer transfer window.
