West Ham will not be signing Emmanuel Adebayor this summer, according to the Daily Mirror. The Tottenham forward was reportedly a target for Slaven Bilic, but any deal is now off.
Aston Villa are the only Premier League club who are negotiating the transfer of Adebayor, as Tim Sherwood looks to reunite himself with the man he resurrected at White Hart Lane.
The Hammers are desperately in need of strengthening their attacking options, with Andy Carroll’s injury hampering the depth of attacking options.
The Togolese forward was close to swapping White Hart Lane for the Boleyn Ground back in January, however Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy blocked the move at the last minute.
Adebayor has struggled for game time since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, who is also targeting fellow Irons target Javier Hernandez. However, it looks as if the 31-year-old will have to be crossed off of Bilic’s list of attacking targets, as the search continues.
