West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham winger Andros Townsend, for a fee of £15million.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Hammers want to sign the 23-year-old, but fear that their relationship with the North London club will dampen any opportunity of bringing the Englishman to Upton Park.
With Stewart Downing set to depart the Boleyn Ground, Townsend could be a shock replacement for Slaven Bilic’s side. He recorded five goals during the 2014/15 campaign.
The Irons will face stiff competition for the man from Leytonstone, as fellow Premier League sides Aston Villa, Newcastle, Swansea City and Sunderland are also keeping tabs on him.
Townsend has three goals in nine appearances for the England national team, but has found his first team opportunities at White Hart Lane limited.
The winger has played for ten different teams in his footballing career thus far, spanning the top three tiers of English football.
