West Ham are favourites to land QPR striker Charlie Austin this summer, if Chelsea don’t come in for him, according to The Mirror.
Austin, just turned 26, is looking to leave newly relegated QPR and is valued at around £15m by the South London club after his incredible goal scoring run last season, which earned him a call-up to the England team.
Chelsea, who are looking likely to lose Loic Remy this window, are considering a move to land Austin, who will likely be a third choice striker behind Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao.
Chelsea are intent on signing Austin as he counts as a home grown player, which the Champions are lacking. The QPR man as well is keen on remaining in the London area.
Other parties rivalling West Ham and Chelsea include Leicester, who have had a £12m bid rejected earlier this week for the newly married goalscorer. Newcastle have cooled their interest after being told they were behind West Ham in the pecking order for Austin and are looking elsewhere.
