# Lincoln City vs West Ham: Preview, team News and where to watch

**West Ham United will look to get their promotion push back on track when they travel to Lincoln City in the Championship on Wednesday.**

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have made a strong start to life in the [Championship](https://readwestham.com/tag/championship/), but recent results have slowed their progress ahead of the trip to LNER Stadium.

The Hammers currently occupy third place after nine league games in the [Championship table](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/table/_/league/eng.2), having scored 23 goals. Lincoln sit 16th, with seven goals scored in their nine matches. The hosts will be keen to respond after a disappointing 3-0 loss to Sheffield United, while West Ham need a positive result after a three-game winless streak continues in all competitions.

## **Team form and previous meetings**

Lincoln has endured an inconsistent spell, winning twice, drawing once and losing three times in their last six matches. They’ve also conceded 11 goals in nine league fixtures. They face a strong West Ham next at home, who are on a brilliant attacking run of their own.

West Ham’s recent form has been less convincing than their early-season results suggest. They’re without a win in their last three matches in all competitions, drawing against Millwall and QPR while also suffering a Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham. Their last six games have produced three wins and two draws.

The Hammers have also enjoyed the better of their only meeting at Lincoln in the past decade. That game came in the League Cup in September 2023, when West Ham secured a 1-0 victory.

## **Team news & key players**

Lincoln will be without captain Tendayi Darikwa, who is recovering from a cruciate ligament tear. Forward Mason Melia is also unavailable due to a thigh problem.

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/tag/west-ham-united/) have received a boost with [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/tag/tomas-soucek/) fit again and back in the starting line-up. [Mohamadou Kante](https://readwestham.com/tag/mohamadou-kante/) has also completed his suspension, while Keiber Lamadrid is the only confirmed absentee for West Ham.

[Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/tag/jarrod-bowen/) remains a key figure in West Ham’s attack. He scored against QPR and leads the club’s [Championship charts with 5 goals](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/team/stats/_/id/371/west-ham-united), followed by Konstantinos Mavropanos with 4 goals in 9 games.
