West Ham United’s attacking depth has been highlighted as a potential advantage in the Championship promotion race.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side entered the international break second in the table with 15 points from eight matches and have scored a division-high 22 league goals.
That attacking output was singled out during Sky Sports’ latest Championship review.
West Ham Squad Depth Earns Praise
Former England striker Billy Sharp pointed to the quality West Ham possess through Jarrod Bowen, Joël Piroe and their other attacking options.
Sky Sports analyst Andy Hinchcliffe also highlighted Dinos Mavropanos, Manor Solomon and Divine Mukasa before suggesting West Ham can introduce substitutes who would be capable of starting regularly elsewhere in the division.
That depth could become increasingly important once the Championship schedule resumes.
West Ham face five league fixtures in October, with our next five fixtures guide showing meetings with QPR, Lincoln City, Swansea, Southampton and West Brom.
There is still room for improvement defensively.
West Ham have conceded 11 goals in eight league matches, an area Hinchcliffe also identified as less impressive than their attacking record.
The Hammers nevertheless enter the break occupying an automatic-promotion place, with our West Ham Championship table guide tracking the latest position.
Nuno will hope the combination of attacking output and squad depth continues to make the difference when West Ham return against QPR on 9 October.
