# Castellanos complaint latest and Kanté ban: West Ham disciplinary update

West Ham United head into the international break with two disciplinary issues following Saturday’s dramatic 2-2 draw at Millwall.

Mohamadou Kanté and Konstantinos Mavropanos rescued a point at The Den, but attention has since turned to Taty Castellanos and Kanté’s late red card.

Our [Millwall 2-2 West Ham match report](https://readwestham.com/2026/09/19/millwall-2-2-west-ham-match-report/) has the full story of the derby.

## Latest on Taty Castellanos complaint

Millwall have lodged a formal complaint alleging Castellanos spat at goalkeeper Filip Marschall during the second half.

[Reuters reported](https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/millwall-west-ham-draw-2-2-return-old-rivalry-2026-09-19/) that the incident could now be reviewed using video evidence.

Nuno Espírito Santo said after the match that he had not seen the alleged incident.

No charge or suspension has been announced.

Our [latest Castellanos disciplinary update](https://readwestham.com/2026/09/20/taty-castellanos-west-ham-millwall-fa-complaint-suspension/) explains the potential consequences if the allegation is proven.

## Kanté set to miss QPR

Kanté’s situation is clearer.

The midfielder was sent off late on after bringing down Kyrell Lisbie as the Millwall substitute broke towards goal.

The dismissal for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity means Kanté is set to serve a **one-match suspension**.

That would rule him out when West Ham return against Queens Park Rangers on **Friday 9 October**.

The loss is frustrating after Kanté transformed the derby, as we examined in our [analysis of his second-half impact](https://readwestham.com/2026/09/20/mohamadou-kante-west-ham-millwall-nuno-tempo/).
