Amanda Staveley was in attendance at London Stadium for West Ham United’s 4-2 victory over Wolves as the battle over the club’s ownership remains unresolved.
The former Newcastle United co-owner was seen close to the directors’ box on Tuesday night, little more than a month after her consortium reached an agreement to acquire the Gold family’s 25.1% stake in West Ham.
The Times highlighted Staveley’s presence during the Championship fixture, adding another layer of intrigue while the proposed transaction remains subject to West Ham’s existing shareholder process.
Amanda Staveley attends West Ham win over Wolves
Staveley’s appearance comes at an interesting stage of the ownership saga.
Vanessa Gold announced in August that she had reached an agreement to sell her family’s entire 25.1% holding to a consortium led by Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi and PCP Capital Partners.
However, that did not immediately make Staveley a West Ham shareholder.
Existing investors have pre-emption rights, giving them an opportunity to purchase the shares before the external transaction can be completed.
Read West Ham previously explained why Staveley’s agreed deal could still collapse, with Daniel Křetínský central to the process.
West Ham’s own published ownership information currently continues to list David Sullivan at 38.8%, Křetínský’s 1890s Holdings at 27% and Vanessa Gold’s Family Trust at 25.1%.
That is why Staveley’s appearance should not be treated as evidence that her purchase has been completed.
Claret & Hugh reports that a West Ham source played down suggestions that her attendance meant the ownership process had reached a conclusion.

West Ham ownership question refuses to disappear
What makes Tuesday night’s appearance notable is the timing.
Staveley was present to watch Nuno Espírito Santo’s side finally record their first Championship victory of the season, with Divine Mukasa scoring twice in the 4-2 win over Wolves.
Her consortium’s proposed investment could ultimately become one of the most significant changes above the football operation since Křetínský first invested in West Ham in 2021.
Read West Ham has also previously reported that Staveley’s plans could extend to exploring a future purchase of London Stadium if she successfully enters the club. City AM reported that discussions over the stadium could potentially be welcomed if a future proposal represented value for taxpayers.
For now, though, the distinction remains important.
Staveley has an agreement to purchase the Gold family’s stake. She has not yet been confirmed as a West Ham shareholder.
Her presence at London Stadium adds another intriguing development to the story, but the decisive moment will come when the pre-emption process is finally resolved.
