West Ham news round-up: Nelson talks, Parrott doubt and Galatasaray check

West Ham news continues to be dominated by transfer activity as Nuno Espírito Santo reshapes his squad ahead of the Championship opener. The Hammers are now in talks with Arsenal over Reiss Nelson, Troy Parrott has raised fresh questions over a return to England and Galatasaray are reportedly checking on Pablo Felipe.

West Ham completed the signing of Manor Solomon on Monday, but there could still be significant movement in Nuno’s attacking options before the transfer window closes.

West Ham news: Reiss Nelson talks advance

West Ham’s interest in Nelson appears to have taken another step forward.

ReadWestHam reported on Sunday that the Hammers were exploring the conditions of a loan move for the Arsenal winger.

The Evening Standard has now reported that Arsenal and West Ham are in talks over a deal, with the Hammers approaching the Premier League champions to discuss Nelson’s availability.

Arsenal are said to prefer a permanent sale, although enquiries have also been made about another loan. Personal terms have not yet been discussed with Nelson, who is still considering his options.

It represents genuine progress from West Ham simply assessing the possibility of a move two days ago.

Parrott raises questions over West Ham move

Troy Parrott remains one of West Ham’s leading striker targets, but the Republic of Ireland international has offered an interesting insight into his future.

ReadWestHam revealed on Monday that AZ Alkmaar had rejected West Ham’s opening offer and that the Hammers were considering returning with an improved bid.

However, talkSPORT has highlighted comments from Parrott suggesting his experiences abroad have changed his outlook on where he wants to play. He explained that football now feels much bigger to him than simply returning to England.

West Ham can still offer Parrott a major role in a promotion push, but interest from clubs elsewhere in Europe could complicate negotiations.

Galatasaray check on Pablo Felipe

There could also be movement in the opposite direction.

West Ham Central reported that rumours from Turkey suggest Galatasaray are checking on Pablo Felipe. There is currently no indication of an offer or advanced negotiations, so the situation remains at an early stage.

The development comes only days after ReadWestHam reported that Pablo was expected to stay, with Nuno considering using the Brazilian in a different attacking role.

With West Ham still pursuing another striker, Pablo’s position is therefore worth watching as the final weeks of the window approach.

Nuno has already strengthened his wide options with Solomon, negotiations for Nelson have progressed and another centre-forward remains on the agenda.

There could still be plenty of movement before West Ham’s squad is settled.
