# West Ham face huge £40m decision as star pushes for Brentford move

**West Ham United face a major transfer decision with Brentford preparing an offer worth up to £40million for El Hadji Malick Diouf.**

The package is expected to include £35million guaranteed and another £5million in add-ons, while the 21-year-old is reportedly keen on making the move to the Premier League club.

Brentford have already had one approach rejected for the Senegal international, with West Ham previously insisting they did not want to sell one of Nuno Espírito Santo’s most important players.

That stance is now about to face a much greater test.

## Brentford prepare huge Malick Diouf offer

[talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook says](https://x.com/alex_crook/status/2087147124508999866) Brentford are expected to make a fresh bid for Diouf which could reach £40million.

TEAMtalk reports the proposed structure would see West Ham receive £35million guaranteed with another £5million available through add-ons, while Diouf is keen on the transfer.

That represents a significant increase from Brentford’s previous attempt.

[ReadWestHam reported on Monday night](https://readwestham.com/2026/08/10/west-ham-prepared-to-reject-second-brentford-offer-for-attacking-full-back/) that the Hammers were braced for another approach but remained determined to keep Diouf unless a substantial offer arrived.

A potential £40million package could now force the club to seriously reconsider that position.

Diouf joined West Ham from Slavia Prague last summer and became one of the few bright points during a difficult relegation campaign, providing five assists in 32 Premier League appearances.

Nuno would undoubtedly prefer to retain him for the promotion push, particularly after significant changes elsewhere in the squad.

However, a £40million deal would represent a sizeable profit after only one season in east London.

The player’s reported willingness to join Brentford adds another complication.

West Ham have so far stood firm. Brentford are now preparing the type of offer that could properly test that resolve.
