# West Ham offered chance to sign £25m wonderkid striker wanted by Bayern

**West Ham United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign highly-rated FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú for around £25million as Nuno Espírito Santo continues his search for another forward.**

The 22-year-old has attracted significant interest across Europe following his breakthrough in Denmark. Bayern Munich have previously attempted to sign the Guinea-Bissau international and continued to monitor him after their initial approach failed.

However, West Ham appear unlikely to rush into a deal despite being given the opportunity.

[Claret & Hugh exclusively reports that Franculino has been offered to West Ham](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-offered-25m-wonderkid-wanted-by-bayern-munich/), with Midtjylland understood to be willing to consider a sale for around **£25m**.

## Franculino Djú West Ham opportunity emerges

West Ham’s hesitation is reportedly linked to Franculino’s recent injury record.

The forward enjoyed an outstanding first half of last season before suffering an injury which ruled him out for several months. Midtjylland confirmed in January that he had scored **21 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions** before being sidelined.

Claret & Hugh’s source suggested a deal may have been possible but added that West Ham are currently looking elsewhere. The report also claims Franculino would have wanted assurances over playing time and protection in the event that the Hammers failed to win promotion.

That stance fits with West Ham’s current striker search.

[ReadWestHam reported earlier today that the club are preparing another move for Troy Parrott](https://readwestham.com/2026/08/10/fresh-troy-parrott-twist-as-west-ham-make-decision-after-15m-bid-rejected/) after AZ Alkmaar rejected their opening offer. The Republic of Ireland international remains the forward West Ham are currently pushing hardest to sign.

Franculino would represent a younger alternative with considerable upside. Bayern’s interest is also well established, with Midtjylland previously rejecting an approach from the German champions for the striker.

His goalscoring record explains why West Ham have been presented with the opportunity.

For now, though, Nuno’s recruitment team appear to have concerns over whether a £25m gamble represents the right move during a season in which immediate promotion is the priority.

Parrott remains the main target, but Franculino is another name to watch if West Ham decide to reconsider their options.
