# West Ham United Sign Nadine Riesen On Three-Year Contract

West Ham United have signed Switzerland international Nadine Riesen on a three-year contract.

Riesen becomes Rita Guarino’s fourth signing of the summer. West Ham have moved early to strengthen their women’s squad before the 2026/27 Barclays Women’s Super League season.

The 26-year-old arrives after three years in the Frauen-Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Yahoo Sports reports that Riesen made 69 appearances for the German club between 2023 and 2026.

## Riesen Gives West Ham Another Senior Defensive Option

The timing matters for Guarino’s squad planning.

West Ham have already started reshaping their women’s group this summer. Riesen now adds a senior defender with experience in a strong European league and with Switzerland.

The key point is the length of the deal.

A three-year contract gives West Ham stability rather than a short-term squad filler. It also gives Riesen a clear runway to settle into English football.

ReadWestHam has already covered how [Laia Codina joined West Ham Women as another major defensive signing](https://readwestham.com/2026/06/21/laia-codina-west-ham-women-transfer-arsenal/). Riesen’s arrival adds another layer to that defensive rebuild.

The next step will come in pre-season.

West Ham must now integrate Riesen quickly and decide whether they see her as an immediate starter or a flexible defensive option.

Either way, this is another early marker in a summer rebuild that now stretches across both senior squads.
