# Manchester United significantly short of valuation for West Ham star

West Ham United are preparing for life in the Championship next season. The club are bracing themselves for a number of player sales, as is usual for a side that has been relegated, but the Hammers will need to sell more as they have to raise £150 million this summer.

## Manchester United short of Mateus Fernandes valuation

According to [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester-united/man-utd-30m-shy-west-ham-valuation-mateus-fernandes-transfer-belief), [Manchester United](https://readmanutd.com/) are around £30 million short of West Ham’s valuation [Mateus Fernandes](https://readwestham.com/2026/05/17/west-ham-close-in-on-alpha-toure-transfer-amid-mateus-fernandes-intrest/).

The Red Devils are among a number of team’s chasing the 21-year-old, who is expected to leave the London Stadium, and was set to do so even if the Hammers remained in the Premier League.
