# Opposition camp: Everton dealt injury blow ahead of West Ham bout

- **West Ham face Everton at 3PM BST today**
- **The Toffees lost two key players last week**
- **David Moyes’s team have now been dealt another blow**

West Ham United host Everton today with both side’s looking for three points for different reasons. The Hammers are desperate to take another step forward in the [Premier League survival fight](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/22/west-ham-survival-situation-gamweek-33/), whilst the Toffees need a win to stay in the fight for European football this season.

[Nuno Espirito Santo’s team](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/23/west-ham-vs-everton-nuno-pre-match/) know they cannot slip up, with Tottenham Hotspur heading to already relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers, who the Iron’s [beat 4-0 two weeks a go](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/10/west-ham-4-0-wolverhampton-wanderers-premier-league/).

For David Moyes [Everton](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/23/west-ham-vs-everton-preview-prediction-premier-league/) side, it is all about picking themselves up from a last-minute Merseyside derby loss. Whilst [Moyes](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/24/jamie-carragher-west-ham-vs-everton-david-moye/) may think he has all the [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/) secrets, his team are depleted by injuries and they have been dealt one more blow before the game.

## Beto ruled out of West Ham vs Everton

Beto, who scored [Everton](https://readeverton.com/)‘s equalizer against [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/), left the pitch after a blow to the head in the game. There was reports that the frontman had not suffered a concussion and would be available to play today, now those reports have be quashed.

Moyes has confirmed that Beto will not play against the Hammers, leaving [Everton](https://readwestham.com/2026/04/23/head-tohead-west-ham-vs-everton/) even more strapped on the injury front.

*“No. Beto has a concussion and will miss this week’s game,”* said Moyes.

Jarrad Branthwaite has now been ruled out for the rest of the season after he was stretchered off last week. The Toffee’s defender has missed a lot of game time this year and the team have been waiting for his return, only for his season to be cut short.

Most have this game billed as a draw but with the mounting injuries to Everton and the opposition also being under pressure in their respective goals, things could play into [West Ham](https://whufc.com/en)‘s hands.

The Hammers are the last team to win this fixture and will hope to do so again as they know, should results go their way, they can open up a big gap between them and the bottom three.
